Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Program

The Mission of The Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce’s Ambassadors program is the retention of existing Chamber Members, enlistment of new members, and to serve as goodwill representatives of the Chamber at a variety of functions. This respected group helps maintain contact with other Chamber members while promoting the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce and its purpose. Ambassadors attend Chamber events and serve as “meeters” and “greeters” at Chamber functions such as monthly Business After Hours Mixers, Coffee Clubs, Ribbon Cuttings, Brown Bag Lunches, Plant Tours, Grand Openings, and other Chamber events (i.e. legislative breakfasts, annual dinners, etc.). Ambassadors are the first contact that new members have upon joining The Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce.

How do Ambassadors benefit the Chamber?
Ambassadors integrate members into the Chamber’s programs and services by meeting and greeting members at Coffee Clubs, Business Mixers, Ribbon Cuttings and other events. They help with membership retention through personal contact and keeping new members as informed and involved as possible. They promote attendance and participation at Chamber events, and help publicize Chamber events through word of mouth and personal contacts.

What are Ambassador benefits?
Bennington Area Chamber Ambassadors develop new business contacts in the Bennington area while increasing the community-wide recognition for themselves and their companies. Ambassadors learn new skills by working side by side with other talented professionals who work within the Bennington Area. Ambassadors of the Month are recognized in the Monthly Newsletter, Chamber Newspaper Column and on the Chamber Website. They will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner Meeting. Ambassadors of the Month receive complimentary admission to the Chamber’s Annual Dinner.

How does a Bennington area businessperson become a Chamber Ambassador?
Interested Chamber members should be willing to become actively involved with various events and committees of the Chamber. Only with this kind of commitment can the group achieve its goals and maintain its standard of excellence and service to the Chamber. Your involvement as an Ambassador is a volunteer representing the Chamber to the business and professional community.
Ambassadors make commitments to attend Chamber functions. Ambassadors can expect to spend 4-5 hours per month fulfilling expectations. Each Ambassador receives an Ambassador badge, which displays each individual’s name. It helps identify those who are active in the group. It helps promote the Ambassador Program and facilitates the activities as official representatives of the Chamber. Badges are to be worn by Ambassadors during networking activities and other Chamber special events.

Ambassadors are an important part of our Chamber and those efforts are greatly appreciated.
