EFFICIENCY VERMONT PARTNERS WITH THE CHAMBER, BETTER BENNINGTON CORPORATION & THE TOWN

Efficiency Vermont Partners with the Town, Better Bennington Corp., and the Chamber; Set to Host Kick-Off Event at The Tap

Efficiency Vermont and the Department of Housing and Community Development are teaming up with the Better Bennington Corporation, the Town of Bennington and the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce to identify energy efficiency opportunities to support revitalization efforts in the Bennington downtown area.

To celebrate the collaboration, Efficiency Vermont is hosting a networking mixer at The Tap House on County Street this Thursday, February 18 starting at 5:30pm and going until 7:30pm. The mixer will provide the ability to meet with Efficiency Vermont staff to talk about their programs. It is a cash bar.

Efficiency Vermont has a broad range of programs and services that can help downtown businesses, residents, local government and non-profits identify energy saving goals and build strategies to achieve them.

The Better Bennington Corporation, the Town of Bennington and the Bennington Area Chamber will play an instrumental role in promoting Efficiency Vermont services, making connections with key local partners, helping identify opportunities, drive engagement with customers, provide office space for Efficiency Vermont staff to use when visiting Bennington, and generally help make sure that efforts are aligned with the community’s priorities.

Together all the organizations involved hope to build strong working relationships that will last for years to come, and allow all to work together effectively to meet common goals and strengthen and improve downtown economic assets by raising the visibility of energy efficiency as resource that saves money and lowers the cost of doing business.

For the next six months the following activities will be conducted in the Bennington area:

  • Efficiency Vermont staff will host office hours at least two days a month at the Better Bennington offices located at 215 South Street
  • Numerous community events, workshops and information sessions will be held
  • Business & home energy walk-throughs will be scheduled & conducted
  • Other activities geared toward achieving energy savings & reducing the associated financial costs for the community will be planned
